Competitor numbers for pipers/drummers

July 2, 2010 - Competitor numbers are not being mailed this year, but rather may be picked up by competitors on the day of the Games at the solo piping and drumming area.  Since all competitors need to check in anyway, we simply felt it was easier this way.  Band passes are not being mailed either, but lists will be at the gates so that band members may gain admission without further delay.  Thank you for your cooperation as we try this new system and approach.

Competitor order of play

July 9, 2010 - The order of play has been posted for solos below, and will be posted on the BCPA Website ASAP.  The order of play for pipe bands will be determined by drawing on the day of the Games supervised by the Chief Games Steward.

Important Information about Band Tents

We are unsure at this time as to the status of any fishing opening on the Skagit River.  For those who attended last year, the road closure for Highland Games traffic in lieu of fishing ramp access actually had very little impact on bands.  We do envision keeping band tents inside the grounds as shown below.

 Here are the key points:

  • After crossing the river, turn left on Baker Street as always (flaggers will assist)
  • The access road along the river will be closed
  • We will provide a monitored drop-off area for instruments and equipment at the south campground gate
  • You cannot park at the drop-off gate area, only leave your stuff and move on to the adjacent parking lot
  • Band tents in same area as last year, on the fence-line next to the river on the south-east side of the park
  • We will provide golf cart-transport for instruments, tents and related equipment to the designated band tent area and back at the end of the day

Competitor Entry Forms

Please review the rules and information completely, and then complete a fill-in entry form, print it out, and return to the Celtic Arts Foundation with the applicable entry fees as soon as possible.  Please note, due to early printing deadlines and because we want to list all competitors in our program, ALL Highland dancing entries must be postmarked in early June of 2011.  Sorry, but in fairness to all competitors,no exceptions will be made.
