Landscape, Love and Language: Exploring Scotland Through the Eyes of its Poets
A lecture with Gary West
Friday, December 5th 12pm-1:30pm
There can be very few poets whose birthdays are celebrated every year across the world, but Scotland can boast one for whom this continues to be the case several centuries after his death. And yet there is a great deal more to Scotland’s poetry than the work of Robert Burns alone, for the nation has been blessed with many wonderful wordsmiths in every generation from medieval times down to the present day. Gary West invites you to come and share his passion for poetry, as he takes you on a lyrical journey across Scotland and through the ages, while introducing you to some of its most powerful creative voices as we go. So do come and immerse yourself in a specially created Scottish soundscape of words of a poetic kind!
Doors open at 11:30am, lecture at 12pm, refreshments will be available for purchase.
