1pm-2pm - Lilting Competition
Lilting is the ancient Celtic arts of using nonsense syllables such as “dum”, “diddle”, and “dee” to vocalize a wordless melody that has become lodged in one’s head. It is custom in Scotland and Ireland for the natives to walk around lilting constantly, often asking their fellow countrymen, “Do you know this one?” Or even, “What is the name of this one?” Whether it is an old bagpipe tune or the catchy theme music from your favorite game show or daytime soap opera, come and have a go at the First Annual Village Games Lilting Competition. Points awarded for style and recognizability. Whistling not permitted.
