Andrea Beaton was born into Cape Breton’s most respected musical families, The Beatons and MacMasters, and she’s been carrying that tradition forward since she was a child. Growing up surrounded by fiddles, piano tunes, and lively kitchen parties, music wasn’t something she chose — it was simply part of who she is.
A powerful and expressive fiddler, Andrea blends deep-rooted Cape Breton tradition with her own spirited style. She’s known for her driving rhythm, rich tone, and the kind of energy that fills a hall and gets feet moving. Off stage, she’s just as passionate about teaching, sharing, and keeping the music alive for the next generation.
Down to earth and proud of her roots, Andrea plays with heart, grit, and a love for the tradition that’s impossible to miss.
One of the finest fiddlers from Canada’s East Coast, Troy MacGillivray brings an electrifying blend of traditional Cape Breton music, step dancing, and piano to the stage.
Originally from Lanark, Nova Scotia, Troy has dedicated more than 30 years to preserving and sharing Celtic music traditions. Raised in a family deeply rooted in Scottish heritage and Gaelic culture, he began performing as a step dancer at just six years old before quickly becoming known for his exceptional fiddle and piano talents. By age 13, he was already teaching at the renowned Gaelic College in St. Ann’s, Cape Breton.
In addition to a celebrated performing career, Troy holds a Master’s degree in Ethnomusicology from the University of Limerick in Ireland. His music has taken him around the world, earning numerous awards and accolades, including the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal for his contributions to Canadian culture.
With powerful musicianship, deep respect for tradition, and a captivating stage presence, Troy MacGillivray delivers a concert experience that celebrates the heart and soul of Celtic music.
Doors will open at 6pm and music will begin at 6:30pm. Refreshments will be available for purchase.
