Observation Gallery Workshop (all instruments welcome)

A demonstration of methods to learn and memorize tunes for all instruments! Ailis will show the class how she goes about preparaing for gigs/competition, and cover these scenarios:

• someone from the class teaches her a tune by ear

• learn a tune from written music

• learn a tune from a recording

Ailis Sutherland will be joining us at the Celtic Arts Foundation as part of our first ever Piping Fellowship, in partnership with the National Piping Centre in Glasgow. During Ailis' time here (mid-June through the Skagit Valley Highland Games in July), she will be leading a variety of group workshops, performing, leading session, and providing opportunities for individual lessons.
